Effective date: September 9, 2026
Welcome to CricScore (“we”, “our”, or “us”). We provide mobile applications and web services available at cricscore.app (collectively, the “Service”) designed to help cricketers, teams, scorers, and tournament organizers track matches, manage tournaments, calculate statistics, and share live cricket scores.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you access or use our mobile applications on Android, iOS, or any related web services. It also explains your privacy rights and how you can manage your data.
By accessing or using CricScore, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not access or use the Service.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: information you provide directly, information collected automatically when you use the app, and information from third parties.
1.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account Registration: When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, password, and optional full name. If you register using Google Sign-In, we receive your name, verified email address, and Google profile image URL from Google.
- Player Profile Details: You can choose to provide additional profile details, including your playing role (batsman, bowler, all-rounder, or wicket keeper), batting style, bowling style, jersey number, player biography, city, and links to your social profiles (such as X or Instagram).
- Uploaded Images: You can upload a profile avatar, squad logo, or tournament banner. These images are stored on our content storage infrastructure.
- Cricket and Match Data: When you create squads, schedule fixtures, enter playing elevens, score live matches, log ball-by-ball actions (runs, extras, wickets, shot coordinates), or manage tournament auctions, we collect and store this information as part of the public cricket record.
- Support and Feedback: When you send us feedback or report a bug through the app, we collect your comments, the category of feedback, and your account identifier.
- Reports and Moderation: If you report another user, squad, or tournament for harassment, spam, inappropriate content, or a fake account, we collect your report details and any supporting notes you provide.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Location Data: When you search for cricket grounds or assign a venue to a match or fixture, we request your permission to access your device approximate or precise location (using GPS, Wi-Fi, or cellular network signals). We use this data only while you actively use the ground search and venue selection features. We do not track your location in the background or monitor your movements.
- Push Notification Tokens: If you enable push notifications, we collect a unique push token assigned to your device by mobile push notification delivery services so we can deliver match updates, tournament notices, and squad invitations. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings or through the in-app notification preferences screen.
- Usage Telemetry and Analytics: We collect app telemetry to understand how users interact with the app, identify crashes, and improve navigation. This includes screen views, button clicks, app load times, device model, operating system version, and general error reports.
- Analytics Privacy Control: You can turn analytics off at any time. Go to Settings, scroll to Preferences, and toggle off “Share usage data”. When this toggle is turned off, the app stops sending usage telemetry. Our analytics events never collect your password, email address, player names you create, or text you type.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
- Google Identity Services: If you link or log in with a Google account, Google shares your public profile details (name, email, profile picture) based on your Google account settings.
- Google Places and Maps API: When you look up a cricket ground or address, search queries and coordinate lookups interact with Google Maps and Places services to return venue addresses and geographic coordinates.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- Provide and Maintain the Service: Authenticate your account, verify your email with one-time passcodes, maintain your player profile, manage team rosters, track live scores, compute tournament standings, and run auctions.
- Display Public Cricket Records: Display match scorecards, player career statistics, tournament brackets, and live scorecards to teammates, opponents, and public spectators.
- Generate Share Cards and Previews: When you share a tournament or match link on social networks or messaging apps, we use match and tournament data to generate summary preview cards (such as Open Graph meta tags and score banners).
- Deliver Notifications: Send transaction emails (such as email verification codes) and push notifications for match start times, live score alerts, and squad invitations.
- Enforce Safety and Community Standards: Scan submitted squad names, tournament titles, and player biographies with automated profanity filters to block offensive language. Review user reports, investigate harassment or fake accounts, and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
- Customer Support: Respond to your inquiries, investigate errors, and resolve technical issues.
- Improve the App: Measure feature adoption and app stability when usage sharing is enabled, allowing us to fix crashes and refine user flows.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not rent your information to third-party data brokers or advertisers.
3. How We Share Your Information
We share your information only in the specific situations described below:
3.1 Public Cricket Community

Your email address and password hash are always kept strictly private and are never displayed publicly.
3.2 Service Providers
We share data with trusted third-party vendors and service providers who assist us in operating, hosting, and securing our platform. These providers process information strictly on our behalf and under confidentiality agreements:

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with legal obligations or valid legal processes.
- Protect the rights, property, or physical safety of CricScore, our users, or the public.
- Prevent fraud, abusive behavior, or security vulnerabilities.
3.4 Business Transfers
If CricScore undergoes a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or asset sale, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before your personal data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Data Retention and Account Deletion
4.1 Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide you with the Service. We retain non-personal cricket match data indefinitely to preserve historical records, tournament results, and league tables.

- Historical match scorecards that you participated in will remain intact to preserve the statistics of other players and teams, but your name on those past scorecards will be disconnected from your personal profile.
If you encounter any difficulty deleting your account, you can email us at support@cricscore.app to request account deletion. We process email deletion requests within 30 days. You can also review our account deletion instructions.
5. Your Privacy Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you have specific rights regarding your personal information:

- EEA and UK Users (GDPR and UK GDPR): Our legal basis for collecting and processing personal information includes performance of our contract (providing the Service), our legitimate interests (securing the app, preventing abuse, improving performance), and your consent (location access, optional analytics). You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

7. Security of Your Information
We implement administrative, technical, and physical security measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include:
- Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS) encryption for all network communications between the mobile app, website, and backend API.
- Cryptographic password hashing using industry standard algorithms (such as bcrypt or argon2). Passwords are never stored in plain text.
- Restrictive database queries ensuring sensitive fields (such as passwords and internal Google identifiers) are excluded from API responses.
- Access controls limiting production database and server access to authorized engineering personnel only.
While we work to safeguard your data, no internet transmission or electronic storage method is 100 percent secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Our servers, databases, and third-party service providers are located in various countries, including the United States, India, and the European Union. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or platform features.
When we make changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this document. For significant changes, we will provide notice within the mobile application or send an email notification prior to the change taking effect. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
