Delete your CricScore account

You can delete your CricScore account and all personal information associated with it at any time. We provide two ways to complete your request: directly inside the mobile app, or by sending an email request if you no longer have the app installed.

Option 1: In the app (fastest)

The fastest way to delete your account is through the CricScore mobile app. This process is automatic and takes effect immediately.

1. Open the CricScore app on your device and sign in.
2. Go to the Profile tab in the bottom navigation bar.
3. Tap the Settings icon in the upper corner.
4. Scroll down to the Danger zone section at the bottom of the screen.
5. Tap Delete account.
6. Review the summary showing your career runs, squad memberships, and deletion consequences.
7. Type DELETE in the confirmation field to confirm your decision.
8. Tap Delete account permanently.

Your account credentials, profile details, and avatar image are removed immediately from our active servers.

Option 2: By email (no app needed)

If you have already uninstalled the app, lost access to your mobile device, or cannot sign in to your account, you can submit a deletion request by email:

1. Open your email client.
2. Compose a new email to support@cricscore.app.
3. Send the message from the email address registered to your CricScore account.
4. Set the subject line to: Delete my account.
5. In the body of your message, state that you want your CricScore account and associated data permanently deleted.

To protect your account security and prevent unauthorized account removals, our support team will send a verification confirmation to your registered email address. Once your ownership is confirmed, we will process your deletion request within 30 days of verification.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove the following personal information:

• Authentication Credentials: Your email address, password hash, username, and active login sessions.
• Player Profile Information: Your full name, profile avatar image, playing role (batsman, bowler, all-rounder, wicket keeper), batting style, bowling style, jersey number, bio, city, and social media profile links.
• Uploaded Images: Any personal profile photo stored on our cloud storage servers.
• Device Identifiers: Push notification device tokens used to send you match and squad alerts.
• Squad and League Roles: Your squad memberships, captaincy statuses, and administrative permissions.
• App Preferences: Your notification preferences, theme choices, and analytics settings.

What is retained, and why

Cricket is a collaborative team sport. Preserving match records is essential for teammates, opponents, and tournament organizers:

• Shared Cricket Match Scorecards: Matches you played in are shared sporting records involving other cricketers. Non-personal match statistics, ball-by-ball deliveries, runs scored, wickets taken, extras, and tournament standings remain recorded so that league results and career statistics for other players remain accurate.
• Player Anonymization: On all historical scorecards, your personal name and profile link are removed and replaced with “Deleted player”. No visitor or participant can view your former profile or link those historical scores back to you (as explained in our Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions).
• Compliance and Legal Records: Any records we are legally obligated to maintain (such as resolved customer service inquiries or security logs) are retained for statutory retention periods, after which they are securely erased.

We never retain your email address, passwords, or personal details after account deletion.

Before you delete

Before proceeding with account deletion, please consider the following points:

• Deletion is Permanent: Once your account is deleted, your personal profile, individual career records, and awards cannot be recovered.
• Email Cooling-Off Period: To prevent abuse and protect account integrity, your registered email address cannot be used to register a new CricScore account for 30 days following deletion.
• Active Tournament Organizers: If you are an organizer or administrator for an ongoing tournament, transfer the organizer role to another team member before deleting your account so that match schedules and standings remain manageable.
• Squad Captains: If you are the only administrator of a squad, assign captaincy or manager rights to another squad member before deleting your account.
• Alternatives to Deletion: If you only want fewer alerts, you can customize your push notification settings under Profile > Settings > Notification preferences. If you want to take a break from the app, you can simply sign out.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take for my data to be deleted?

In-app deletion takes effect immediately upon confirming with the word DELETE. Requests submitted by email are processed and completed within 30 days of identity verification.

Will past matches I scored be deleted?

No. Match scorecards and ball-by-ball records remain in the tournament and team archives to preserve tournament integrity and opponent statistics. However, your account information is unlinked, and your name appears as “Deleted player”.

Can I cancel a deletion request?

In-app deletion is instant and cannot be canceled or undone. If you submitted a request by email and have not yet confirmed the verification link, you can reply to our support team to cancel your request.

What if I signed up with Google?

If you created your account using Google Sign-In, the deletion process works identically. Deleting your CricScore account removes our records and disconnects the Google authentication link. It does not affect your Google account or any other third-party services.
